Original painted in 2005, acrylic on canvas. Misquamicut Beach in Rhode Island is a peaceful haven along the Atlantic seaboard and personal retreat for me. I was there, in a peaceful place, when this image came through.
The way the light hit the dark clouds captured me. There’s a hopefulness, the feeling we get at dawn when we see the sun peeking through the clouds and the light illuminates the darkness. The sense of promise and possibility of a new day.
